Listen to A Seafarer’s Fanfare
Premiered by the Concertino West Orchestra
Conductor Dan Mollick
Program Note
Starting from a simple woodwind/string melody in the beginning, the piece personifies the journey of an old seafarer, someone who is out at sea for several months at a time; rarely having time to see their family, but searching for something beyond the sea. The fanfare-like elements and grandeur, coupled with the timid and reserved moments develop the a metaphorical journey from beginning to end.
